The man and I make nice

Today I fixed things with the manager I mentioned the other day. We both had some good things to say, and everything is better now. I've just been stressed lately. Alot on my mind.

But today things are really looking up, and I have some good news on several fronts. The first, and most important is that Sarah has an appointment to go see the doctor, and hopefully that will go well. We are excited to find someone that will see her in the next millenium, and I pray that it is a friendly and sensative doctor... so someone imaginary basically.

The second thing is that I called and arranged to have internet installed at our apartment on the first of next month. That will truly simplify a great deal of our life right now, and allow us to keep in touch with all of you that much easier.

The third, and somewhat inconsequential... but cool to me, is that Apple has made a modification to their iTunes program that I suggested to them. Of course, there may be absolutely nothing to do with me sending them a long email with pictures and at least a dozen reasons why their program needed the feature I suggested, but there may be. They are very good at keeping their finger on the pulse of the consumer, and the power user even more so, and to have an eloquent and well thought out idea that they can use and look cool because of, handed to them on a silver (free) platter is a great deal for them. Brain storming for free. Maybe I was just one of many people frustrated by the lack of folders in the iTunes playlist menu bar, or maybe I was the only one that said something, but I feel that I have done my job in simplifying my and other people's musical lives. Go Jim.

And my geekery stock increases exponentially.

Um... what else? The mountains looked really beautiful today. They're flocked with snow, and really look fantastic. I am hoping to get back on Ryan's show, possibly using an internet phone service, as soon as we have internet in the house. We'll see. For the time being, he's still using pre-recorded segments of "The music you're not listening to, but should..."

Well, I can't think of anything else right now... Oh, George or Massa.... Would you guys please make sure that Michelle C. and Emily Smith have the address of this blog? I think that they'd enjoy it.

Later,
Jim

Can I just double check and make sure that I read correctly below... did you publish your home address on the web???

ooo yeah, if you want to take it off, I wrote it down.

I will be sure they have it, though I don't see much of them anymore. Glad you worked things out with the man! I had a friendly and sensitive doctor once. There is still hope!

Hi Jim & Sarah! It's Paula (Jim V.'s wife) :waving:. Congratulations on pre-baby! I wanted to chime in with a couple of things I have gleaned on morning sickness. Kristy from work is pregnant, she's due at the end of January. To boost morale, I have been sending her daily pregnancy info bits and a cute picture. Anyhoo, one of my chunks of advice actually works! Really well! So two words for morning barfies - Sea Bands! They're terry cloth bands with bumps on them for helping with motion sickness, you can get them at Walgreen's, about $10 for the set. Kristy is never without hers, even when she feels fine, she takes them with in case the urge to purge kicks in at work. Juan's (former night shifter, now day shifter ad designer) wife Margarita is expecting twins and couldn't even leave the house the morning sickness was so overwhelming, Sea Bands (or different brand name Travel-Eeze) were the first thing that let her resume a little of normal life. Anyway, I hope they help! There's other stuff you can try, like lemon scent, peppermint scent, ginger tea...After producing more than 70 daily thoughts, I have become an authority! Also, I am reaching the point where I have few daily thoughts left and am resorting to the obvious like "don't play with plutonium" & "avoid bungee jumping". Take care :)

Hey Jim!

Your geek superiority shall never be in question! I was chatting with Steve (Jobs) this morning over our usual DUNKIN' DONUTS coffee (he calls it "his DDC" it is his FAVORITE) and he said he has all your comments and emails to Apple and iTunes forwarded straight to his personal account for his immediate attention. He attributes some of Apple's success in the last few years to ideas spawned from emails sent by you. He calls you his "little pointy headed secret weapon" (I worried at first he was talking dirty, then he mentioned you by name) and he was excited to know that you and I go way back.

Steve has given up on Krispy Kreme's with "his DDC" but still loves his Breakfast Jack and fries from Jack-In-The-Box to get his days started. He said to tell you hey, and if you ever want a GOOD cup of coffee to give him a jingle.

Pretty cool my wifey skuck in here and commented without even telling me! I just read it and got a chuckle. Feel honored! I don't think she even comments on my blog!

Ok, fine... I took it off. It's not like the sneeky hosers that put ads on here actually read anything anyway.

Paula. You rule. I never told you didn't, but I might as well tell you that you do. Thank you.

Mom, that's awesome about the fund to come be with us at the birth... I hope it works out.

Jim. I don't know what to say. Except, why is Steve-o driking Dunkin Donuts when I send him all of my weekly markouts of coffee? I guess I should have known that he drinks more than a pound a week.

And mister spam-man. I'm coming to get you.
