Cancer...

Argh.

My grandma sent us an email yesterday, letting the family know that she has been diagnosed with skin cancer. Please keep her, and the family, in your prayers in future weeks.

Cancer is one of those things that I feel reminds us how little control we truly have over the world around us. In truth, all we can do in this situation is do our best medically, and leave the results in God's hands.

That's all for now.

While skin cancer is a relatively minor disease to overcome, the fact that cancer runs in the family - in fact, Jim's great- grandmother (his grandma's mother) died of throat cancer - puts a scare into anyone. God has A L L things under His control, whether we want to accept that fact or not. He has far higher wisdom than we do, and reasons for dealing with or NOT dealing with our various diseases. Mankind's sin just after God's act of Creation set the ball of disease in motion, and only when time is done and we who have accepted Jesus Christ as our Saviour and Lord will know lack of fear and lack of pain. Until that day, we can only wait...and hope, praying that more of those whom we care for will make the choice to receive Jesus' proferred gift of salvation. NO one is exempt from the wages of Sin overall. But those who have accepted Jesus as their Lord are thus forgiven and their sins covered with His blood - Sin forever washed away. We cast ourselves on His loving grace and compassion to see us through each day, hand in hand with our Lord! DLM
