Is this tongue in cheek or are you really impressed by this? I think it just shows how much stature the Noble Peace Prize committee has lost! To many inconsistancies in Gore's 'research' and movie for me to really rally around it all!
Anyway. The subject Gore has been obsessing over the last couple years is one that can be looked at from so many angles that calling aspects of his research "inconsistancies" is a bit one dimensional.
When it comes to global warming, one can argue that the ice caps are melting like we've never seen before. But on the other hand, we can assume based on the patterns we've seen that sometime before our recorded ice cap history, they have melted quickly and then recovered. You can argue that buffalo droppings had a worse effect on the atmosphere than our modern smokestacks do, and that by killing all the buffalo, we did the earth a favor. There's the stat that says that there are more trees in America now then when Columbus arrived. There are alot of things that can be said for both arguments.
However, Al Gore has been doing what he can in a way that liberal protesters in the past ignored. He's using a logical, thinking approach to global warming, and most importantly, is sparking interest and debate.
Do I think that's NPP worthy? Maybe not. But I respect what he's doing. Most people who lose the presidential election don't go out there and make the biggest difference they can... they usually go back to their aquired ketchup empires, or do viagra commercials.
